Hello Everybody. My name is Laethe (rhymes with faith).
Ultimately, my art is a reflection of the space where simplicity and complexity coexist. A place where clutter meets clarity and something that is uniquely human emerges. I offer my work as a recognition of what it means to honor the fullness of the human condition.
I think of it as reaching into a tangle of yarn. Feeling the soft strands as my fingers penetrate the snaking continuous length of cotton fiber. Enjoying the knots that envelop my hand - pausing, thinking, feeling. Needing to then find the end and pull a line from the organic jumble. Watching as the fuzz and knots slither through the overlapping strands, vibrating as the line gets taught, becoming a unique, singular expression of the tangle from which it was pulled.
